Physicians Emergency Procedures Course (PEP-C) *If course is full - email alison.mccully@hiscentre.com The Physicians Emergency Procedures Course (PEP-C) — is a specifically focused offering that targets optimal emergent procedural interventions. This hands-on program gracefully blends fresh and embalmed human specimens, highly experienced professionals, and the most demanding “high value, low frequency” procedures used in medicine today. The PEP-C course is tightly orchestrated and designed to comprehensively dissect, explain, and train through: bleeding control (fundamental management, REBOA and modified clam thoracotomy); ventilation and airway management (Basic, Advanced, and Surgical); vascular access (peripheral, intraosseous, central venous, and GAHP), thoracic injury management (needle, simple, and tube thoracostomy as well as pericardiocentesis), introductory ultrasound assessment and procedural usage; Cantholysis; and fundamental suturing. Participants will also actively locate, visualize, mobilize and explore the freshly dissected anatomy of the neck, chest, abdomen and extremities to better appreciate the efficacy and impact each intervention has on the human body (while simultaneously redefining how common medical and traumatic disease processes can interfere with select procedures). PEP-C has been specifically designed with the single goal of improving procedural indication recognition while simultaneously ensuring real-time, hands-on procedural experience. • Suggested attire: Scrubs and all PPE are provided. Comfortable shoes are strongly suggested. Participants should NOT wear short pants or open toed shoes . • Who should register for this workshop? Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners (emergency medicine, hospitalists). • NOTE: This course involves a full day of active engagement and tremendous amount of standing, moving and skills refinement. Participants should expect to be completely satisfied YET utterly exhausted at the conclusion. This course has consistently receives the highest evaluation scores for content, instruction and value. With this in mind participant are strongly encouraged to come well rested. • Each participant additionally receives access to all PEP-C program materials (slides, illustrations, images, and videos) • Parking is FREE. • Breakfast, Lunch and refreshments are provided. • 8 hours of CME • Additional offering for this course can include exclusive suturing course with Plastic Surgeon
